The Woman I Want to Be By: Nana Yebo | STILL ON THE ROAD By: Nana Yeboaa Thirty two odd years I have been on this road
I wailed when I set upon the road Then I settled on a loving bosom
I knew no pain, only joy and happiness Tragedy or poverty were far
Humbly lived the life I lived Worked hard, then life looked me up
Then she was lost, there was no bosom to nestle Yet I kept on the road
I met him later, only to lose him The rock that kept me steady
I am still on the road not alone A little girl on the left a fatherless son on my right
Weary with life, I am still on the road I ain't got it, but I ain't giving up I ain’t giving up on love
The road turned I climbed over hills and mountains Rocks and brushed cut me deep
My wounds may scar, but surely they will heal And I will reach my destiny
Don’t ask me how For I am still on the road
